1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
38:1 Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance.
# ص وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ 1
$ 1363 The rejection of Islam by many of the people of Mecca and Medina 38:2-10
38:2 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division.
# بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ 2
38:3 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called, 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety.'
# كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوْا وَ لاَ تَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ 3
38:4 They marvel now that, from among themselves, a warner has come to them. The unbelievers say, 'This is a lying sorcerer.
# وَعَجِبُوا أَن جَاءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَقَالَ الكَافِرُونَ هَذَا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ 4
38:5 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing.'
# أَجَعَلَ الآلِهَةَ إِلَهاً وَاحِداً إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ 5
38:6 Their assembly left (saying), 'Go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired.
# وَانطَلَقَ المَلأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَى آلِهَتِكُمْ إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ 6
38:7 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention.
# مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَذَا فِي المِلَّةِ الآخِرَةِ إِنْ هَذَا إِلاَّ اخْتِلاقٌ 7
38:8 What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)?' No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment.
# أَأُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّن ذِكْرِي بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُوا عَذَابِ 8
38:9 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving?
# أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ العَزِيزِ الوَهَّابِ 9
38:10 Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means!
# أَمْ لَهُم مُّلْكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الأَسْبَابِ 10
